2020 C8 Corvette Began Life In 2015 As A Holden ute with A Porsche PDK Transmission

In early 2015, Car and Driver published exclusive images of a curious Holden Commodore ute which it claimed was an early prototype for the mid-engine Chevrolet C8 Corvette. At the time, such an assertion seemed a little bold but, as it turns out, the publication was right on the money.

I remember the speculation that it was a Cadillac mid-engined "XLR" and thinking "Yup, GM would be stupid enough to create a sports car above Corvette and give it to Cadillac."

Remember the mule BMW used for the 1st-gen X5. It was one of the most curiously outfitted vehicle on the 'Ring. Everybody was completely stumped as to what it was. But then somebody reminded the industry that BMW owned or previously owned Land Rover. BMW was crafting a new SUV using what they learned from LR sport-utes.

This: "BMW was crafting a new SUV using what they learned from LR sport-utes" would be true only if BMW wanted class trailing SUVs. LRRR is 100% hype and very little substance.

it's fairly obvious BMW took what they needed from LR & made all kinds of changes & updates for themselves. then sold LR for cheap.

where you been the past 20yrs dude?
