Audi Gets Powertrain Gets Complicated With 444 Horsepower Twin Turbo Hybrid 2020 S6
Audi has revealed the 2020 S6 that's headed to America, and unlike the one destined for Europe, it won't be powered by a diesel engine. Using a gas-powered, 2.9-liter twin-turbo V-6 paired to a 48-volt mild hybrid system, Germany's latest sporty executive four-door boasts 444 horsepower, almost as many pound-feet of torque (443 to be exact), and can do zero to 60 in 4.4 seconds. That's a lot of fours.

Too bad it's so dated and boring looking.

Your Pavlovian response to any new car. Pretty funny.

And you have low expectations.

No. You just hate anything new. Weird.

You clearly don't pay attention. I have heaped enthusiastic praise on a number of new cars.

Now that BMW launches a 306 HP/331 LB-FT FI I4 on new M135i, they should put it in use and update the fleet to 535(I4), 545 & M555(I6), and reserve V8 only for M5

Audi can keep the "Understated Luxury" moniker. The cars are way too boring for my taste.

Come on Autospies. At least proof read your titles before you hit publish.

I had an A6 and loved it. Then it seems every possible powertrain and electrical part broke on it the moment the warranty ended. After spending buckets of money and being in the shop nearly ever month I sold it and decided I would stay far away from any Audi. This beauty looks to be great when new but with even more complexity I think the owner better budget big $$$ for maintenance.

If you must have an Audi, lease it.

Yup - this is the problem with most of the German cars - they are good 3 year lease cars and then immediately start to disintegrate. Some of the plastic parts of the BMW - especially its water pump - have become general maintenance items rather than long lasting. ANd the interiors of the BMW fall apart just as badly. Even the Rolls water pumps are unreliable.

Buying a high performance Hybrid - with all of its potential problems - is something I would not recommend to anyone - even Matt.

Another great q-ship from Audi.

Let's not speculate on what "q" stands for given how dull and unimaginative this Audi is.

444hp, 443lb-ft, 0-60 4.4s. Decent performance, but bettered by the 4.0L V8TT outgoing S6, and absolutely obliterated by the 523hp, 553lb-ft, 0-60 3.4s M550. Missed opportunity for Audi here.
