SPIED + VIDEO: The All-new BMW X5M Gets CAUGHT On CAMERA — Are You IMPRESSED or DEPRESSED?

Generation-to-generation, the BMW X5 hasn't changed particularly much. On the outside or on the inside.

But what I can tell you is that it is getting better with each iteration. Having driven the latest X5 with the V8, it is a very capable vehicle. But when you start adding it up and you're looking at $85-90,000 for a V8 X5, you start scratching your head.

One vehicle remains on my wish list though. That would be the X5M.

It's tremendous fun, sounds great, has plenty of space and it churns through the white stuff. I adore it.

So with the third-generation X5M on the way, I am happy to show you some of the latest video coming to you straight from Germany. Nabbed near the Nürburgring at the popular gas station where everyone fills up, this X5M is essentially caught with its pants down.

Sure, the exterior is covered extensively with camouflage but the interior is quite exposed. Check out the seats lifted from the M5 but have some extra embellishing to fall in line with the latest X3M and M8.

As it pulls away it clearly is using different tuning from the M5, which has a burly V8 sound. This sounds more, dare I say, exotic. This is in line with the V8s previously used in the first- and second-generation X5Ms.

Cute but if it’s forthcoming rival is anything like it’s stablemates, the GLC 63 and G 63, I’ll
Hold out and wait for the GLE 63, I think the new ///AMG Grille will look sick on it

In my opinion M cars don’t have enough to distinguish them from the standard car with a sport package these days

These days Mercedes simply has a massive styling advantage over BMW and Audi. The one stand-out from BMW is the X7. The 8 Series looks like an inept counterfeit Mustang. M and AMG crossovers are largely payoff/shut-up purchases for middle-aged wives who bitch about their husbands at yoga, while the husband is blissfully happy without them.

Side Note- just want to say RIP and Prayers up to the families of the 20 victims & 26 injured in the mass shooting in Texas, I don’t know what’s going on in this country and I pray we find peace soon.

There is a special place in hell for mass shooters and I hope those families find justice for the lives lost and changed this weekend.

The X5M will have the price and performance to compete with the GLE63S AMG. Otherwise it will be typical BMW which means very little exterior design change with an average interior.

As with all the M class Vehicles - it is the performance that will decide - at this money - price is generally not as important. IF the M car is superior to others in the class - the Styling won't be a major hit. Styling is always conservative among the Premiums and above. While I guess it would be nice to see BMW do something OBVIOUS to make the new cars look different - that is unlikely
