What PISSES You Off MORE? When Your Vehicle Has A Mechanical Or Tech Failure?
So, here I am. I am driving at speed on the New Jersey Turnpike and, coincidentally, speaking to Agent 001. The phone call suddenly drops.

"F#$@!&% AT&T," I mutter to myself. Agent 00R's wrong again.

It turns out as I peek at the infotainment display, it's not my mobile carrier that's the problem tonight. The 2019 Honda Passport I am driving just had its first technical glitch. The infotainment screen is locked up and is displaying that I am still in Midtown Manhattan.

And, there's nothing I can do to remedy the situation. Traveling at speed, I can't reset the screen. I push and hold the power on/off knob but no luck. Perplexed, I just motor on. I am not going to pull over on the Turnpike and power cycle the car to do a hard reboot of the infotainment system, that's for sure. The only way I can make calls is by using the handset, which is obviously dangerous and against the law.

So, I settle in and arrive at my destination. I notice when I get back in the car the infotainment system does a hard reboot and it takes about 3-5 minutes for it to come back to life.

I have to be honest. When I realized what was happening as I was traveling down the highway — at speed — while trying to get back in touch with 001, I was furious. What an inept system!

This leads me to tonight's big question: What pisses you off MORE? When your vehicle has a mechanical or technological failure?

Mechanical. Tech is usually cheaper and faster to fix. Usually.

An Unresponsive dealer or manufacturer. Anything mechanical or technical can be fixed it’s about making it as painless as possible for the customer if they wish to retain them.

Tech. For some reason I believe tech should be bullet proof while I'm accustomed
to dealing with mechanical failures over the years.

tech, i want to put my hand through the screen of my Grand Cherokee every time it chooses to operate in a different way. one day i can hear waze while listening to the radio, next day no, one day media works, next day not, one day siri works through the truck, next day just chirps and turns off.

mechanical, more likely to really ruin your day. tech is annoying, but most of it fixes itself with a reboot. Now if it's an upgrade to software that really messes things up, well generally there's no short term fix in sight.

A mechanical issue is an unpardonable sin especially if it is a new car. The ONLY tech feature I depend on is bluetooth connectivity so people can call me while on the road.

My brief stint in an Alfa Romeo Giulia ended with that pile of shit getting dumped. I'm fortunate that my business car is one that I'm not stuck with. I cannot fathom buying a Giulia and putting up with the Christmas tress display of idiot lights coming on for no reason and going into limp mode. That issue is NOT fixed.

Let’s do a Venn Diagram overlay of this post..

“What PISSES You Off MORE? When Your Vehicle Has A Mechanical Or Tech Failure?”

…With the prior post….

“What's The #1 All-new 2019 MY Vehicle You're Recommending To FRIENDS And FAMILY?”

And maybe the three people who recommended Honda/Acura products to their friends should reconsider?

I'll be more specific

I am really really pissed when the car I am driving has a flat tire- and all they have in the trunk is an inflator can that doesn't help. I note MOST tire manufacturers put into their warranties that they are voided by use of the things.

One case where technology has gone backward

Why is it that the Passport and Chevy Blazer have been on sale for months and they are hardly seen in the roads?
