2020 C8 Corvettes Already Showing Up In The Wild

As more examples of the new generation Chevrolet Corvette arrive at dealers, we get more chances of seeing them in their natural habitat.

This one, for example, was seen at Connell Chevrolet, south of Los Angeles, as it was being driven outside the building, surrounded by a small crowd who wanted to immortalize the moment.

How nice that everyone dressed for the occasion!

Nothing says "great purchaser demographic" like a size XXXL Guildan T-Shirt, droopy Champion sweat shorts, and old sneakers.

I can clearly see where Chevy is heading with the "new demographic" for the mid-engined C8.

A tad snarky! Obviously it's "Casual Friday" as everyone in the pictures is dressed in a similar manner. Someplace hot.

Hmmm...casual Friday?

...Or "let's mow the lawn after we see the new Vette"..?

Overall it looks nice, but that rear end... looks like a stacked cake

And it should come with some bling-bling chrome rims... too European now

Actual production is still months away.

Pilot models will be out and about.

I was pretty sure that guy was going to take one of the mirrors off squeezing through that narrow passageway.

$7-10K discount is part and parcel for Corvette prices and is nothing new. What may be new is nervous dealers ADVERTISING the discount. We've never walked from a Corvette deal for that amount. 10% has typically been our bottom line.

The desirable Z06s are gone at this point. They sold around list. It's the base Corvettes that are lingering. We have 4 at $55K with $5K off.

C7 production is doing the final special orders but those had to be money-in-hand orders, so even though we have some coming, they are not "inventory" in the sense that they are pre-sold.

We're in a traditional market so Camaros, Corvettes, and Silverados are the ticket. The Volt and Bolt were apocalyptic, fire-sale discounts for us if we kept them so we dealer traded the eco-crap to the bay area in exchange for products that our clientele wants.

I have a Z06 in the garage, but we no longer have any in inventory aside from the ones coming that are sold. Because we've been aggressive--especially over the internet--in selling Corvettes, we will likely have been Corvette-free for some time when the C8 finally arrives in 5-6 months.

In our group, we do list price to previous customers. We definitely do not do the cash rape dance because that just makes angry customers.
