Kia/Hyundai Assault On Truck Market To Be Large And Small
Trucks are big right now, both in physical size and sales numbers. For years, Hyundai has teased the idea of such a vehicle after debuting the Santa Cruze concept at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Hyundai is still working out the details, but it’s not alone. Kia announced last month it’s looking into offering a truck as well. A new report from CarsGuide says the two automakers could offer their trucks in a variety of body styles.

The Discovery isn't even remotely in the same league as a Wrangler. The Discovery is a softroader for wealthy soccer moms with #RBF.

Ordered in the right configuration, the newest Discovery is a very capable Wrangler competitor. It's just really expensive once you add all the off-roading bits & parts. And a lot more "posh" of course.

They better give these "trucks" decent tires. The Telluride looks ridiculous with its big, wide body sitting on top of bicycle tires.

Average consumers like the Pilot/MDX and the Traverse/Enclave and Pathfinder and Explorer. This is where the Telluride/Palisade sits in the market. An Avalanche-like variant will be well-received.
