If GM Can Sell The New Corvette For UNDER 60k, HOW ON EARTH Can They Charge OVER 50k For A BLAZER Or Almost 6 Figures For Escalade?

If GM Can Sell The New Corvette For UNDER 60k, HOW ON EARTH Can They Charge OVER 50k For A BLAZER Or Almost 6 Figures For Escalade?
If you read about the 2020 Corvette the two top things that resonate from GM's messaging is supercar competitor and UNDER 60k starting price.

Amazing right?

For the first time since I owned a Tahoe in 2001, I'm actually THINKING of getting a Corvette. That is IF it's no more than MSRP.

My guess is with the right options you'll be able to get a decent config for low to mid 70's. You can't buy a 10 year old 4.2 Audi R8 for that. So kudos to GM for the first interesting product since the debut of the first Escalade.

But as I ponder that and I see people posting reviews of the new Chevy Blazer and what the pricing is of that I can't help but think...If GM can build something as great as the 2020 Corvette and charge so little, HOW THE F is a Blazer OVER 50k or the Cadillac Escalade approaching six figures?

And for perspective the new Kia Telluride is even NICER than an Escalade and it maxes out at UNDER $50k.

Spies, discuss...

The Telluride is nice and all, but I wouldn't say it is as nice as the Escalade. Also, the Escalade is a lot larger. A lot of the high pricing on these large SUVs is also borne by the fact that many are "business" vehicles, which creates an instant discount of 40-50% depending on tax brackets and the state the buyer lives in.

There's not much of a difference in costs to build either vehicle. R&D costs may be a different scenario.

However, market trends are a major factor in pricing. Premium & luxury vehicles are over-priced right off the assembly floor.

Simple....a new C8 is actually going to get sold with necessary options at $75K to $80K. GM has adopted the Porsche high cost option system.

Right on, and they are "options" that you need :).

I actually think the base build is pretty good. With Porsche you're lucky to get ABS brakes.

Because suv's are the "in thing" right now. The sports car market is a lot smaller. GM is smart to keep the price low on the C8.

Is that why I hardly see Blazers?

The Escalade easily sells at $100K. The Blazer is an overpriced TURD.

This has been GM strategy for YEARS! They overprice their core models and then throw huge money on the hood so people think they are getting a great deal. All you have to do is look at their pickups you can walk into any GM store and instantly save over $10,000 off MSRP because they are priced too high.
