Is Trump RIGHT? Are The Current Crop Of Auto Executives FOOLISH And TOO Politically Correct?

President Trump slammed “politically correct” automakers Opens a New Window.  on Wednesday, defending his plan to roll back Obama-era carbon emissions standards.

“My proposal to the politically correct Automobile Companies would lower the average price of a car to consumers by more than $3000, while at the same time making the cars substantially safer,” Trump tweeted.

Is he right? Or is HE foolish?

Who would you bet on being right on this subject? The auto execs or the President?

Spies, discuss...

Right after he buys Greenland... Just ignore it. Winter is coming and so is 2020.

Neither can tRump. With his multiple bankrupcies no US bank will loan him a dime. His money comes from Saudi and Russia. His is for the most part their employee and his name is on the building. The auto executives he criticizes are far better businessmen than him. They did not inherit their titles from daddy.

Remember - Trump believes that the average person is making over $100,000 - so we would need to find out what he thinks the average car is before determining how much you would save - and how bad your breathing will get because of that.

100% Correct. Auto executives should NOT lean either way in the MANAGEMENT of a company. They are free to have any political perspective as a private citizen, but customers and employees come from all political persuasions. You don't want to alienate customers or create the impression that one political bent among employees is the carpet ride to advancement.

They shouldn't be political. However they do need to make decisions that are best for the company and hopefully also to the country, communities they have workers in etc... If going with the stricter O era stuff makes more sense for these companies (of which all are global) then good for them.

80ho, why do you always resort to name calling? Are you so ashamed of your lackluster accomplishments and lack of intellect or is it you are so insecure about your own knowledge on complicated topics?
Is your own world view so weak that any challenge results in an emotional outburst, like a 4 year old? Sad.

They run a global business and thus must account for fuel economy in all their markets. Just because tRump thinks global warming is a hoax, they have to think more realistically and longer term. He only has about 17 more months in office unless the 25th amendment kicks in.

The earth is actually warming and yes it has been proved. Warming is a form of change.
Billions of tons of ice are melting every year. Greenland actually has green land.
Climate scientists, experts really (I know how trumpeters hate experts and smart people)
Have proven it.
The average daily temperature on earth has risen dramatically over the last 100 years.
CO2 levels in the upper atmosphere have reached 400 ppm, unprecedented.

I don't think any other politician would make such an insane demand to buy Greenland as it surely must invoke the 25th amendment.
Then to attack the Prime Minister of Denmark and call her nasty is truly insane.
Denmark is a staunch NATO ally who spends above 2.0 percent on NATO, sent troops to fight in Afghanistan (55 have died) and is a great intelligence resource.

I think it is long past time to invoke the 25th amendment. Cancelling a long planned state visit via tweet. All because "the chosen one, king of Israel, second coming of God was politely told her country was not for sale?
