The United Auto Workers union is enacting sweeping changes and settling yearslong controversies at its top levels, according to the latest report from the federal monitor overseeing the organization.

 

The monitor, in a report published Thursday, Dec. 18, has doubled down on accusations that top-level staffers conspired to unfairly strip responsibilities from union Secretary-Treasurer Margaret Mock — and the UAW is ready to reinstate her duties.
