BMW unveiled the i3 and dropped the bomb: the production run of the i4 is coming to an end after five model years. With the all-new i3 in the lineup, ready to replace the i4, there is basically no room left for it.
The arrival of the BMW i3, unveiled in Munich on March 18, means the departure of the i4. The automaker’s product manager, Bernd Korber, claims the new model is "more or less the successor of the i4," which would send the latter straight into retirement, even though it has been on the market since late 2001.
