The final American-made Lincoln Corsair rolled off the production line of the Louisville Assembly Plant in Louisville, Kentucky. Now, the production is shifting. The next-generation Corsair will be manufactured in China, at the Ghongqing Assembly Plant, and imported into North America.
In the meantime, the Louisville Assembly Plant is being retooled for electric vehicle production, following a $2 billion investment. Ford is transforming the traditional manufacturing line into an advanced "Assembly Tree." Instead of one long assembly track, three separate subasssemblies will run simultaneously and merge together using massive single-piece aluminum castings.
