The A4 is making a comeback in the shape of the A4 e-tron. It will be completely redesigned, it will be underpinned by a new architecture, and will hit the market sometime in 2028 as a rival to the electric Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW i3.

 

Audi has confirmed the arrival of the A4 e-tron as an all-electric compact executive EV, slated for a release in 2028. The timeline marks a strategic shift for Audi, as the electric sedan is set to be Audi’s first step in the transition from the current Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, which debuted back in 2024, to Volkswagen Group's next-generation Scalable Systems Platform (SSP).
