For nearly a quarter of a century, the internal combustion Porsche Cayenne has been the brand's undisputed cash cow. Not only did the Cayenne compete for the sales crown with the Macan, driving massive profits, but it all funded the continuous evolution of the iconic 911 and the Boxster/Cayman/718 mid-engined sports cars.
   
Despite its quintessential German badge, the luxury-oriented performance sport utility vehicle has never been fully assembled on home soil. That could be changing, though, as reported by the good folks at Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. As per the cited publication, Cayenne production may switch from the current Bratislava plant in Slovakia to the Leipzig facility in Germany.
