The Volkswagen brand has roared back in the second quarter of 2026, putting a sluggish start to the year firmly in the rearview mirror. According to sales data released by Volkswagen of America, the company staged a pretty impressive turnaround in the second quarter of 2026, recording a 24.9 percent sales increase compared to the period between April 2025 and June 2025.

 

This massive improvement did massive heavy lifting for the brand's year-to-date metrics. Volkswagen weathered a tough Q1 2026 where volume dipped 16.1 percent against 2025, with the Q2 2025 surge pushing VW back into positive territory for the first half of the year. In total, the brand shifted 162,961 vehicles during this six-month timeframe, representing a 2.3 percent increase.
