A little over a decade ago, at one point in the early 2010s, the automotive industry abruptly and collectively decided that the future of the car interior needs to be a single, giant touchscreen.
Slowly but surely, almost every mainstream carmaker jumped on the bandwagon of replacing every knob and button and actual physical control that a driver had been operating without looking since the early days of powered windows with things like swiping and sliding gestures on an ever-growing touchscreen.
