Europe is hell-bent on having close to 100 percent zero-emission vehicles on the roads by 2035 and being carbon neutral by 2050 across all of its industries and activities. With only about a quarter of a century left until then, this puts a lot of pressure on the companies doing business there, especially on carmakers.

     

A lot of progress has been made in the automotive industry in this respect, with all sorts of electric and alternative energy vehicles coming to life there, but it is becoming increasingly obvious the carbon neutral target will be very hard to meet this way. That’s why some companies have begun looking at other options.
