Even if the all-new X5 is out and about, BMW is far from done expanding the lineup. That’s because there are still plenty of versions to be launched, including the iX5 Hydrogen, and the full-blown X5 M, which will sit at the top of the lineup in terms of power, performance, and price.

Some say the next-generation BMW X5 M might feature the same plug-in hybrid setup as the modern-day M5. If that’s the case, then look for an electrified 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, making 717 hp (535 kW/727 ps) in total and 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque. That’s how much the M5 has, hitting 62 mph (100 kph) in 3.4 seconds for the Sedan and 3.5 seconds for the Touring.
