Audi has officially revealed its long-awaited full-size flagship SUVs, the all-new Q9 and high-performance SQ9, marking a significant expansion of the brand’s lineup. Positioned above the Q7 and Q8, the Q9 is Audi’s first true large three-row SUV and serves as the spiritual successor to the discontinued A8 sedan. Designed with a strong focus on the U.S. market, it competes directly with the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS, and Cadillac Escalade.
Measuring 5.31 meters long with a 3.14-meter wheelbase, the Q9 is the largest Audi ever produced. It offers seating for six or seven passengers, featuring optional individual power-adjustable second-row captain’s chairs with heating and ventilation, massaging front seats, and easy access to the third row. Standout interior elements include Audi’s largest panoramic sunroof (with switchable transparency and illumination), power-operated doors, a multi-screen “Digital Stage” setup, and an immersive Bang & Olufsen 4D sound system. Cargo capacity reaches up to 87.7 cubic feet with seats folded, while towing capacity hits 7,700 pounds.
Power comes from a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 producing 429 horsepower in the standard Q9, enabling 0-60 mph in about 4.9 seconds, paired with an eight-speed automatic and quattro all-wheel drive. The SQ9 steps up with a revised 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 delivering 591 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, accelerating to 60 mph in roughly 3.8–4.0 seconds. It features rear-biased quattro, wider arches, larger wheels, and sportier styling.
Advanced technology includes third-generation curved digital OLED rear lights, Digital Matrix LED headlights with micro-LED modules, adaptive suspension, and enhanced driver assistance systems supporting hands-free driving on selected highways.U.S. pricing starts at approximately $87,700–$89,000 for the Q9 and $118,000–$119,000 for the SQ9. Orders open immediately, with deliveries beginning in the fourth quarter of 2026 (November in some markets). The Q9 and SQ9 redefine Audi’s premium positioning through space, comfort, and performance.
