Sometimes the simplest explanation is the one we hear the least after a crash. Instead of blaming software, phantom braking, or a self-driving feature, one woman says the car was simply too much for her to handle. According to a newly filed complaint uncovered by the Independent, 59-year-old Alemzewd Lawgalet suffered serious injuries after crashing a Tesla Model Y into a Virginia hair salon during a September 2024 test drive. She alleges Tesla employees sent her out alone despite knowing it was her first time driving an EV, failed to explain regenerative braking, and left the vehicle in its highest-performance “Insane” acceleration setting.
