Further details about the new Bentley Torcal – formerly known as the ‘Urban EV’ – continue to emerge from Crewe ahead of its official debut in a few weeks’ time. The large all-electric SUV will usher in a new design language, as well as introduce a new level of luxury and refinement.

 

The latest new piece of information concerns the driver modes, which Bentley says create very different experiences within the car, going far beyond the suspension and throttle response, with each bringing different sounds and influencing the interior lighting. 

 

Within these modes, some of the new Torcal’s features are being previewed. These include a sporty V8-like engine noise in Sport mode, and complex colour-changing elements that bathe the cabin in soft light. In one of the pictures newly released by Bentley, we can see the rear door with this lighting, which looks as if it is being refracted from within a cut-glass whisky tumbler.
