SYNC helped normalize the idea that a modern car must stay connected to the driver’s digital life.

Now a new capability is emerging that could follow the same path: high-speed Starlink satellite internet built directly into the vehicle. Unlike cellular hotspots that fade in rural areas or remote stretches of highway, Starlink delivers fast, consistent broadband nearly anywhere under open sky. The connection remains strong where traditional networks fail completely.

Manufacturers that integrate Starlink early will gain the same kind of advantage Ford enjoyed with SYNC. Those that wait risk watching customers move on to better-connected alternatives.
