When the newest version of the Genesis GV80 hits the roads in the U.S. next month, it will do so in a brand-new form, a hybrid that makes use of a new kind of powertrain. We knew that was coming for a while now, but this week the South Korean carmaker spilled all the beans on what to expect from the new setup.
Officially called the 2.5 Turbo Hybrid System, the parallel hybrid setup brings together the blessings of a 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with those of a starter-generator motor that handles engine starting and power generation, and a drive motor to spin the wheels and assist with regenerative braking.
