A man in Canada is looking at close to a dozen charges after police pulled over his overloaded SUV and counted eight children inside, none of them properly secured or belted in. The stop happened during what should have been a routine check.
Ontario Provincial Police were working St. David Street North in Fergus last week when their Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system flagged the driver of a Nissan Pathfinder as possibly uninsured. That kind of hit normally ends at the driver’s window with a citation. This one did not, because of what the officers could see through the Pathfinder’s windows once they got close.
