The safety watchdog has escalated its probe into GM's electro-hydraulic brake system. Engineering analysis EA26006 expands the investigation to more than 1.1 million vehicles equipped with eBoost electronic brake control, including vehicles produced under the Cruise, Honda, and Acura brands.
As per the Office of Defects Investigation report, the safety officials started looking into this matter back in April 2024 by way of a preliminary evaluation. At the time, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration received numerous complaints from 2023 Cadillac Lyriq customers alleging a rock-hard brake pedal either on startup or while driving their vehicles.
