BMW number one in corporate sustainability for second year

Munich, Germany - The BMW Group has been named the top automotive industry leader in corporate sustainability, as measured by the current evaluation of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI). It is the second consecutive year BMW has been so named; the company is also the only one in the sector to have been listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index World and in the European Dow Jones Sustainability STOXX Index without a break, since the establishment of the index in 1999.

The Zurich-based SAM Group analyzes 2,500 companies each year in terms of their ecological, social and economic performances, and selects the best ten per cent for the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. Industry-specific challenges are also taken into account; in the automobile industry, these include climate change, ecological standards and social standards at supplier companies.
