Bmw announced today that sales in August surpassed global sales volumes for its core brand, which means that the Bavarian manufacturer is returning to pre-crisis levels. As expected, Bmw sold more vehicles in China in the first eight months of the year than it did on the entire year of 2009.

Bmw AG says that global sales of the Bmw brand rose 16.3 percent last month to about 88,000 units, which means that the cumulative total year-to-date is 775,262 BMW brand vehicles (a gain of 14.0 percent).
