One of the biggest problems within the automotive industry are the reviewers. That's because most of the time these guys and gals are a bit biased or, frankly, not very good at their job.
While you may or may not agree with our sentiments on products, we always are straight shooters.
We can't say the same for others in the biz.
That said, when an owner does a 26-minute long review of his all-new Fisker Karma you have to take notice. It's clear the individual is passionate about his latest purchase AND wants to share his experience with others.
Not to mention his vehicle isn't a "presser" that may/may not have been taken extra good care of.
Some of the more noteworthy elements of this guy's 26-minute epic:
- Poor exterior body panel fitting
- Some less than desirable interior quirks
- Poor user interface
- Poor software
- Peculiar wind noise from the rear windows over 50 mph
- This owner LOVES the design
- The Karma has excellent visibility
- Doesn't mind its sedate performance
- Is achieving nearly 100 mpg COMBINED
And, of course, several memorable quotes:
"it really is at its best when you're going slow"
"the handling is superb"
"the performance is nothing like a sports car"
"in my opinion, the worst user interface in the history of user interfaces"
I received my Karma in December 2011, and after putting 2200 miles on the car I decided to do this very complete and comprehensive review of the car. I apologize for the length of this review, but this is actually the short version. I had a lot to talk about, and this was the shortest I could edit it down while retaining most of the important stuff.
