17 cars were on display, each with a cover. Most of these vehicles will be here by this time next year as 2008's or 2008-1/2.We were informed that some stuff was not to be shown at this time, and understandable considering how many people might move on to the competition soon. There were also many slides of future freshenings (2009-2010) mostly of all the products being shown as well. I liked the videos comparing what it looks like and sounds like to enter a typical Freestar, which amounts to banging doors, dark footwell areas, annoying bells and chimes and rough sounding V6 engines revving. Certainly not even close to class leading. They then compared that to the sights and sounds of a new people mover. WOW!!! It's amazing what simple engineered audible things like pleasant chimes and doors closing with a distinctive and solid sound can do for the perception of quality. The D37 ( I thought it was a D35, but later learned it was in fact a D37) starting and revving to redline was also heard and it sounded great. Ford is finally paying attention to engine sounds in something other than the Mustang, hooray.
