It seems as if Hyundai-KIA Motors has been on a roll, and wishes to continue that roll by releasing their Next Generation Elantra a full year earlier than normal. This popular compact sedan will be released sometime in late 2010-early 2011.

As you can see, this Next Gen Elantra Sedan has the 4 door coupe like exterior akin to the Next Generation Version of its bigger brother-Sonata, featuring Hyundai's new Fluidic Design phillosophy. Yet, it will boast an elegant appearance to compete with Buick's new small car based on the Cruze, and features a more lower slung suspension than the current model. The Next Gen Elantra will be on a new Hyundai small car platform that will underpin the Accent, Elantra, and Veloster. The Next Gen Elantra will feature Hyundai's new Theta-II 4 cylinder engine, and will return 40+ MPG.

The interior is light years ahead of the current Elantra, and features a more upscale appearance than the current model as well, copying the sporty yet refined Interior of the Genesis Coupe.

Expect to see high end vehicle content, especially in the upper trim levels. There will be a Coupe and Crossover variant as well.
