According to the latest sources, Maserati will be producing diesel motors for the all-new Ghibli. And here's where it gets even more intriguing. Maserati will be working alongside the "artisans" of Maranello — Ferrari — in the production of the oil burner. They want to get the sound "right."

If you're worried about a lack of grunt, have no fear. The GM of Europe, Giulio Pastore, revaled to Auto Express that the Ghibli diesel will have 275 horsepower and over 440 lb.-ft. of torque. Zero to 60 is expected in six seconds.

So, if it sounds "right," is quick and gets decent mpg is it all that bad?
