Ever since the FT-86 concept, a preview of the Toyota/Subaru joint-venture coupe, has been unveiled, the Subaru 086A STi Version has been attracting a lot of attention.
The regular Subaru 086A is believed to be almost identical to the Toyota version but with subtle exterior/interior styling differences. The standard 086A will be equipped with Subaru’s EJ20 flat-four boxer engine with D4-S direct injection, an Aisin 6-speed gearbox and a rear differential as used on the Lexus IS250/350. An output of 200 hp is expected however; other sources have placed the output as low as 160 hp.
