Porsche have unveiled their latest model in the Cayenne lineup – the Cayenne GTS. The GTS is powered by a 4.8 litre V8, naturally aspirated, with 298 kW/408 bhp at 6500 rpm and a maximum torque of 500nm/370ftlb at 3500 rpm.

The engine of the GTS features a VarioCam Plus 2 in 1 engine which adjusts the intake camshafts as well as the lift of the inlet valves. The system can switch from normal day-to-day power to maximum power so the car can adjust to all driving conditions. That engine also leaps the car from 0-100 in just 6.3 seconds.

A sport exhaust is as standard providing amazing sound. When the sport button is pressed, an even more amazing sound is made.

The Cayenne GTS is fitted with Porsche Stability Management.

The car also is very efficient, and is designed for fuel containing up to 10% ethanol.

Transmission wise, it is available in the manual but optional in the Tiptronic S auto.

As much as it is a Sports Utility Vehicle, like all Cayenne vehicles you would not take it out off-road. But the Cayenne GTS definitely puts the Sport in SUV

If you wanted a fast Cayenne but cannot afford the Turbo Cayenne for $90,000USD, but you can afford to spare a couple of seconds to get to from 0-100, the GTS is for you. The car will debut in US dealerships around March 2008 for just under $70,000 USD.
