Toyota said from the outset that its motorsports-inspired GR GT supercar would be an exclusive thing, though not as exclusive as the 500-car production run of the Lexus LFA. However, that doesn't mean you'll find one at every dealership. And even if you do stumble across one, it will already have an owner, as a senior Toyota official has confirmed that the car is sold out in the US.
 
The GR GT and its electrified V8 powertrain were first shown at the tail-end of 2025, with production slated to start next year. While we still don't know exactly how many will be built, Toyota Senior Vice President of Automotive Operations Andrew Gilleland told The Drive in an interview during this past weekend's Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion in California that just 200 to 250 examples are earmarked for the US, and that the allocation was already spoken for.
