Every once and a while I get in a bit of a rut and it seems clear as day that people can be wretched individuals. Perhaps I just spend too much time reading comments on the internet.

Reality check: Most people are actually inherently good.

If you need further proof of this, just see the tweet below. I think this is a "feel good" way to kick off the week. Apparently a New York City pedestrian was run over this past weekend and was trapped under a Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class.

Rather than continue the carnage by running the individual over with the back tires, the driver stopped. As onlookers realized the significance of the situation, they ran over to the GLE and lifted it up to pull the woman out from under the chassis.

No word on the lady's condition but she was seen awake and using her cell phone while being tended to by first responders.

This is yet another anecdote in New York City's latest issue: Drivers, pedestrians and cyclists getting into severe accidents. Part of the fault is on aggressive drives, distracted people walking and careless cyclists.
