If a new bill is passed the police will then able to check peoples identities at the roadside by checking their fingerprints against the police national data base. The bill is proposed supposedly to stop illegal immigrants and organised crime, how exactly that is going to work is anyone’s idea, but it is thought that there will be a finger print scanner fitted within a police car and when the police have suspect they can check their details against the police national database which holds the details of nearly six million people.
The theory behind this, is that, say you were a wanted criminal, you are driving along minding your own business, suddenly from behind there they are the police, blue flashing lights and sirens, naturally you pull over, it would futile to try and escape, your only chance of getting away with it is by lying, after all it would be bad form for a wanted criminal mastermind to be arrested, just because his rear indicator did not work! So he lies and bluffs his way out of the grasp of the law, now with the fingerprint scanner, there is no bluff, he places his finger on the pad and alarm bells begin to ring.
