When talking about Korean pickup trucks, Hyundai has the Santa Cruz, and Kia has the upcoming Tasman (its name for now). But the Hyundai Group - Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis - is gearing up to increase its presence in the truck segment, taking the fight to the Ford F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1T, and eventually, the Tesla Cybertruck.
During its recent Investor Day, Hyundai confirmed it was developing an electric pickup truck on the second generation of the E-GMP platform, rumored to be dubbed eM. The current E-GMP platform underpins the Korean conglomerate's EV offerings, such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.
