AUDI, not Audi, has just unveiled the new E5 Sportback at the 2025 Auto Shanghai. The model will be made in China by the German automaker's EV subbrand and will only be sold on the local market. The car has hatchback-like styling, over 700 horsepower, and a massive screen on board. It is the first model of the firm spelled in capital letters.
The new China-only brand AUDI has just unveiled the E5 Sportback at the Volkswagen Group Media Night in China, marking the beginning of a new era in luxury electro-mobility. The brand's Chairman of the Board of Management, Gernot Dollner, says the E5 offers the very best qualities of Audi, reimagined for and tailored to customers in China.
Audi was the first premium car manufacturer from Germany to enter the Chinese market 37 years ago, with Mercedes-Benz and BMW following in its footsteps. Now, it is breaking ground with an all-new China-only brand and an all-new model tailored to local customers' preferences.
