2026 appears to be a mighty important model year for the Wrangler-styled pickup that Jeep calls Gladiator. According to chief executive officer Bob Broderdorf, the mid-size truck will receive 392 cube inches of HEMI naturally aspirated V8 muscle in the near future.
"It's clear how much people love the roar of the 392," chief executive officer Bob Broderdorf told our friends at The Drive. The big kahuna made it clear that the 6.4-liter engine will have a home at Jeep, singling out the forthcoming Gladiator Rubicon 392 and the existing Wrangler Rubicon 392.
The cited publication expects Jeep to leverage HEMI power in other products, including the Grand Cherokee. Whether the unibody sport utility vehicle will ever go back to its HEMI ways, we don't know for certain yet. We also do not know for certain if the 6.4 fits in the engine compartment of the WL-series Grand Cherokee, whose 5.7-liter HEMI was discontinued after model years 2023 and 2024, respectively.
