Slotted below the GLB three-row crossover, the GLA has been hit with a noncompliance recall. Only a small number of 2024 model year vehicles may have been produced for the United States market with potentially noncompliant headlights.
The recall documents filed by Mercedes-Benz USA with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reveal that subject headlights may not feature the mandated optical reference marking points. Due to missing aim markings, the subject vehicles may not comply with FMVSS 108 for lamps, reflective devices, and similar equipment.
Mercedes claims that all GLAs known to have been produced incorrectly left the factory with correctly adjusted headlights. Be that as it may, readjustments using the wall projection method might not be performed according to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108.
