The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced a new investigation into 2.88 million Tesla vehicles equipped with Full Self-Driving software. The agency received over 50 reports about traffic-safety violations, including driving through red lights and "against the proper direction of travel" during lane changes.
 
Despite Tesla CEO Elon Musk having a special relationship with the current administration, the company is under increased scrutiny for its autonomous driving software. In the latest round, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) initiated an investigation after receiving 58 reports of traffic safety violations that resulted in 14 crashes and 23 injuries.
