For eons, Santa Claus has been spreading gifts and joy to kids all over the world, in a single night, by relying exclusively on a very low-tech piece of engineering: a wooden sleigh powered by eight reindeer. And while that will continue to be so for the foreseeable future, American aviation giant GE Aerospace decided to give the sleigh not one, not two, but three alternative means of propulsion.
 
What you're looking at in the main photo of this piece is, of course, the result of a trip down imagination lane, undertaken by the company's engineers. It's not real, and it never will be, but the tech used to upgrade the sleigh certainly is, and it already impacts our world greatly.
