TheGMSource - The gentleman that supplied the world with photo's of the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette SS has been allegedly fired from his job from the shipping company that employed him, and has been carted off to jail!

Auto Blog Editor John Neff has broke the story and has learned from several unnamed sources that the gentleman, once an employee of a shipping company contracted by General Motors was fired today, and subsequently placed in police custody. We are working to confirm this, so please be aware that as of now, it is being speculated that he is in police custody.

I can tell you, that in a brief exchange last night with the accused, he never had any idea the situation would go this far, or reach the magnitude that it has. However, our last exchange with the accused said this.

The below response is a message that was sent to myself after members suggested the photo's could have been sold for cash:

"I'm not really in this for money either, I'm just an honest car guy who happened to have my camera and saw a Z06"

It's unclear of what charges may be levied against the employee.

We are working our phone lines as we speak, to stay tuned as we hope to have an update shortly.

Update

TheGMSource has contacted both the shipping company the accused employer work(ed) at, as well as the Romulus Police Department and neither party has any comment regarding what may have transpired today.

My Comment:
I'm not really sure if this is arrested as some sources say the civilian wasn't arrested and some say he was. But, we'll find out soon.
