It’s easy to see that Christian Bokich loves what he does. “How could he not?,” you ask. He’s Audi of America’s product manager for some of the Ingolstadt car manufacturer’s most popular models, including A3, A4, S4, RS 4… even the new A5 and S5. Still, it’s not until you talk at length with Chris or his product planning peers that you realize just what an attention to detail a product manager at any car manufacturer has to deal with. At detail-oriented Audi, that level of detail is multiplied.

Still, Chris revels in it. Call his office (and we’re not handing out the number) into the evening hours and you’ll often find Chris at his desk. He’s a regular face for the evening security shift at Audi of America’s Auburn Hills headquarters from what we hear, even though Chris is newly wed by just a few short months.

Chris is a car guy and it shows. Special models like the S4 25quattro and the Titanium Package S-line A4 are directly attributable to his efforts. The guy sweats over wheel choices to a level that would give even the most ardent enthusiast on our own discussion forums pause.

He’s an enthusiast through and through, like many of his peers on staff at Audi today. That’s one reason we find it so easy to get along with the folks at Audi and the same reason that we can think of few better people to talk shop with over a beer. Fortunately for us, that’s just what happened recently, and Chris was more than willing to chat extensively about those cars he calls his own, on the record, with our trusty iPod recording the whole thing.

Yesterday, in the first part of the conversation with Chris, we inquired about the A3 ( FOUND HERE), just part of the models that fall under him. Today, we discuss the A4 range, including the S4, RS 4 and even touch on the A5. To note, this interview was performed prior to the recent influx in A5 photography, well before any solid information was available on the A5. Not surprisingly, the Audi of America product manager wasn't considerably wordy when it came to a concept that had been little more than confirmed by Audi AG executives.
