A new J.D. Power survey finds that Germany’s drivers may enjoy their own products but many prefer Japanese-made vehicles. The survey of 15,000 German drivers put Toyota first in customer satisfaction in six categories, while the Nissan Maxima placed first among luxury cars even against competition from Mercedes and BMW.

According to our contacts in the Automotive industry, a common thread seemed to resonate. They all believe that J.D. Powers awards are influenced by the level of participation in their paid marketing initiatives. Although participation is not ‘required’ in these programs, many auto execs we spoke with under the veil of confidentiality say that not participating financially, is the ‘kiss of death’ for your chances of winning.
Based on Auto Spies research, most of the award winners were also common participants in these J.D. Powers (paid)marketing progams. One in particular, is constantly pursuing perfection.
