For millions of car owners, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto have become an essential part of everyday life. If a vehicle doesn’t offer smartphone mirroring, that means no deal for many car buyers. So it came as quite a shock when, in 2023, GM announced it would scrap both systems in favor of its own infotainment system.
 
It now seems as though GM may be softening its stance on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, or is at least slow-walking their removal. The online configuration tools for several 2027 Cadillac models still list the two features as standard equipment.
