In the end they said that the Prius offers no real advantage over the 118d except slightly lower emissions. On the other hand, the new BMW 118d with its improved combustion process and particulate filters is extremely clean for a diesel powered car. The 118d also outperformed the Prius in mixed driving fuel economy.
