Developers have been hard at work fine tuning the facelifted version of the BMW 6-series ahead of the coupe’s official unveiling at September’s Frankfurt Auto Show. Recent spy shots have revealed that the updated model will get a new bumper, revised taillights and a small bootlid spoiler, but the big news is that we’ll also see two new six-cylinder variants including an all-new 635d.

This image, taken of the interior of one of the test-mules, was recently posted up on AutoScoops. It clearly shows the word ‘diesel’ positioned above the fuel tank gauge and confirms that there’s a new diesel 6-series in the works.
