With all the technology and expertise in people's hands these days, we wonder if the traditional way manufacturers design a car is on the way out?
Is it about time the car design process is democratized?
With all the design tools out there like photoshop, high-speed net access and near supercomputer power on the desktop, it’s easy for budding designers to create new designs or modify existing ones.
Just look at what our readers are doing…it’s amazing.
So the question is…
Why does a manufacturer come up with a design and then have everyone praise and bitch about it (when it's too late to change it), when they could put out digital concepts and let the masses modify the designs to their final liking, then go with the ‘customer approved design’?
We’d love to hear your opinion…
Will it eventually go to that or is that a pipe dream?
