After a day and a half of pushing the IS-F's envelope on the hilly, twisty two-lane roads of Carmel and at Laguna Seca Raceway, we had tried everything the car has to offer--sport, normal, and even snow mode on a wet skid pad. With the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management system on, off and partly disabled (ABS and the electronic limited-slip differential are always on), both on the slalom course and on the whole, beautiful 2.2 miles of Laguna Seca, we discovered that the IS-F is far more talented as a car than we are as drivers. The steering precision we felt, the weight of the steering at the wheel, the quick turn-in and recovery were just about ideal for our tastes, and there's a reason for that.
