Hot on the heels of the official introduction of the new M-Class at the Detroit Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz is bringing a healthy dose of horsepower to the Chicago Auto Show. Making its North American debut in Chicago, the new
S65 AMG is powered by the awesome 6.0-liter V12 producing 604 horsepower and 738 ft.-lb. of torque. We have posted advance photography of the S65 AMG today and will add more photos tomorrow. Please check the media site for pictures of this exciting new model.

To help stir the air of The Windy City a bit more, we'll be bringing the AMG "one man, one engine" philosophy to life, and actually hand-assemble the 6.0-liter V12 engine on the Mercedes-Benz display. A technician from AMG in Affalterbach, Germany, will be on hand to build one engine on each of the two media days -- average build time for each engine is roughly 7 hours. A true auto show first, this event will be the only time these engines will be assembled outside of the AMG engine facility in Affalterbach. We encourage you to visit regularly to check on the progress. Photos of the AMG production facilities can be found on our site under the 'Production'
heading in our photo section.

In addition to our AMG displays, we'll also showcase the new 2006 MY 3.5-liter 268-horsepower E350 (which replaces the current E320) as well as the all new ML350 and ML500.

Only 604 horsepower! ;)
